Frequently Asked Questions about Registration

When is the deadline for registration at the reduced price? Members of SCMLA or ALHeLA who register by 5 pm on September 26th will get the Full Conference for only $270. Some ticketed events are extra so be sure to check the fine print if you want to attend the Early Bird Reception, CE’s, Lunch by the Pool, the Hospital Librarians Luncheon or the ALHeLA Luncheon. If you are paying by check, as long as you have registered in Acteva by September 26th at 5pm, you will receive the reduced rate.

What happens if I register after this date? You can still register after September 26th but the price increases to $350 for the Full Conference rate.

Do I have to register for the full meeting if I am only taking a CE? It is not necessary to register for the full meeting if you will only be taking a CE. You may want to purchase a ticket for lunch (if you are not signed up for one of the full day CE’s) or a ticket for the Welcome Reception on Monday evening if you’d like to participate in either of these activities.

Can I just register for the one day conference rate if I only plan to be at the meeting on Wednesday? Absolutely! You can select the option for one day registration – Wednesday for $135 and attend that day’s conference programming. Please note that the one day registration for Wednesday does not include a ticket for the Banquet or a ticket for the Hospital Librarian’s Luncheon so you’ll need to purchase these separately if you’d like to attend these events.

How can I attend the meeting if I am a library school student?
As a library school student, you are eligible for the student rate of $95. This covers the Full Conference Rate as well as a membership in Southern Chapter MLA. We hope you’ll attend all the social events included with your registration as well as a special Student Reception hosted by MLA President Mary Ryan.

Why do I have to provide the names of the attendee(s) for each ticketed item? We have turned on a feature that allows someone to register for multiple registrants at a time while providing the names of the individuals attending each event. This feature requires that names be provided for each event even if only one individual is being registered.

Can I purchase extra tickets for a friend who would like to attend the Welcome Reception and Banquet? You can purchase extra tickets by selecting these ticketed events in Acteva. You will be asked to provide the names for each individual attending an event. The extra tickets will be included with your registration packet.

Why do you have an activity questionnaire? This will help us have an accurate head count so that we can plan food for all the events. Please doublecheck that the events you select in the activity questionnaire are either included with your registration type or have been selected as separate ticketed events.

How do I know that my registration has been processed in Acteva? Once you have registered in Acteva, you will receive an email confirming your registration, the costs for your selected items, and a list of the activities that you have selected in the activity questionnaire. If you paid by credit card, your registration is complete.

What happens if I am paying by check? How will I know that my check has been received? When we receive your check, we will complete your payment in Acteva and you will receive a confirmation that your registration is complete.
