Study Space Strategy Session

Construction will begin at LHL on the ground floor March 1st. What does this mean? No access to the  ground floor at all until at least mid-summer.

If you like to study on the ground floor you will need to find a new favorite spot. A table on the 2nd floor by the windows where it is quiet or at a carrel on 1st?

What can we do to make the 1st and 2nd floors more appealing? Come to a strategy session on February 13th at 4:00 pm in the Sunroom (by the HUB) to let us know.  Can’t make the strategy session?  Email Pat Higginbottom and share your ideas or let us know when you drop by for afternoon tea on Wednesdays.

We hope that as we make changes to the building we can include changes that will be of direct benefit to students — COME TELL US WHAT THOSE ARE!

Clinical Key — New Resource

LHL is replacing MD Consult with a new database called Clinical Key.  Clinical Key is organized into sections including journals, books, practice guidelines, patient education, drugs, multimedia, and CMEs.  Similar to MD Consult, Clinical Key has access to a wider variety of e-journals and e-books.  With the content available through Clinical Key, UAB’s access to Elsevier journals will be greatly enhanced.  For instance, there are currently 8 ophthalmology-specific e-journals and 58 ophthalmology e-books.

Access Clinical Key from LHL’s Databases page.

Learn more about Clinical Key from LHL’s Resource of the Month.  If you have any questions or need help with anything, please email Nicole or Ask a Librarian.

Please let us know what you think!
