Aclands Video Atlas of Human Anatomy

Endnote Training Scheduled

The sessions will be held in the Electronic Classroom at Lister Hill Library. The library will provide pizza at 11:00 for attendees. Registration for each session is required. Click here to register.
8:30-11:00 EndNote Basic (hands-on)
This class focuses on the different ways to get data into an EndNote Library. It also includes setting preferences and creating custom groups, smart groups and group sets, and how to use most popular “Cite While You Write” commands.
Pizza Break
11:30-1:30 EndNote Web for EndNote Users (hands-on)
This class covers using the EndNote Web features available to EndNote Users. It includes transferring references and using the EndNote Web plug-in and Capture button.
2:00-3:30 EndNote Advanced: Tips and Tricks
This class covers some commonly requested advanced features, such as editing styles to add the cited pages field for citations, customizing reference types, and creating custom term lists to integrate with customized or existing reference types.
2012-2013 Reynolds Historical Lecture Series Begins September 20

Seger, PhD candidate, History & Philosophy of Science, Indiana University, Bloomington, will be speaking on “Medicine’s Changing Appreciation of Negative Results.” Reynolds lectures are free and open to the public. They are hosted by the Reynolds Associates and UAB Historical Collections. Box lunches are available on a first come, first served basis.

New Clinical Database: DynaMed
September 13th, 2012 by Pat | No Comments | Filed in Class of 2013, Class of 2014, Class of 2015, Class of 2016DynaMed is a new clinical decision making tool available at UAB. It was jointly acquired by the UAB Health System and Lister Hill Library and is available on and off campus.
The DynaMed interface is clean and easy to use.
Search or browse for your topic to receive short summaries with links to available evidence. DynaMed employes a 7 step evidence based methodology to rate information. They assign one of three levels of evidence.
DynaMed is available on your mobile device as well. The set up is a bit tricky though, we have instructions posted to help. Give DynaMed a try and let us know what you think.

Fall Express Training Schedule

Need to hone your library skills or want to learn something new? Drop in to Express Training @ LHL for a quick session on Thursdays at noon in the Electronic Classroom on the ground floor of Lister Hill Library. The classes feature focused training with plenty of hands-on exercises and time for your questions. No registration is required for the in-person classes.
Bring a (non-messy) brown bag lunch if you like; LHL will provide snacks and drinks. Questions? Call the HUB at 205-975-4821.
Each class is also offered online on the following Monday at 3:00 pm. Registration is required for online classes. For more information on each class and to register for online classes, please go to www.uab.edu/lister/events.
