Grading your References in Fund I

October 4th, 2012 by Pat | No Comments | Filed in Class of 2016

I finished my grading for the Fund I references for the genetics project.  The papers have been returned to Carolyn Tuma to be returned to you.  Some of you did well and passed but most of you failed.

Overall I would say that your justifications were better but you still made lots of mistakes when citing your references.  Sloppy errors on the most part.  I hope that the notes and corrections are helpful.  I’d be happy to answer any specific questions  you may have.

New Clinical Database: DynaMed

September 13th, 2012 by Pat | No Comments | Filed in Class of 2013, Class of 2014, Class of 2015, Class of 2016

DynaMed is a new clinical decision making tool available at UAB.  It was jointly acquired by the UAB Health System and Lister Hill Library and is available on and off campus.

The DynaMed interface is clean and easy to use.

Search or browse for your topic to receive short summaries with links to available evidence.  DynaMed employes a 7 step evidence based methodology to rate information.  They assign one of three levels of evidence.

DynaMed is available on your mobile device as well.  The set up is a bit tricky though, we have instructions posted to help.  Give DynaMed a try and let us know what you think.
