Attend our Tech Tune-Ups in April for a chance to learn more about mobile applications, facebook privacy, and e-readers. Each class will be held in the Electronic Classroom from 12 to 1. Bring a non-messy lunch, if you like. Stay for afternoon tea following the sessions and have more time to try the devices or get your questions answered. For more information, call 975-HUB1.
Mobile Applications on 4/6: Everyone is talking about mobile apps and information on the go. In this session learn why you should go mobile, which are the basic apps and about apps available to access LHL resources. A number of devices will used in demonstration and available for you to see and try.
Facebook Privacy on 4/13: Have you been contemplating jumping on the Facebook bandwagon but are concerned about what personal information others can see? Or maybe you’re a current Facebook user that hardly has time to keep up with the ever so frequent settings changes? Join us for a brief but informative look at some of the privacy settings in Facebook and learn how you can better protect yourself.
E-Readers on 4/20: Curious about Kindles? Interested in iPads? Learn options for using tablets, e-readers, and smart phones for your leisure reading. Librarians will share tips about their favorite devices and the apps they like the best. A Nook representative will also be on hand to show the latest in Nooks. Stay for tea and try out the book readers in the “Technology Petting Zoo” immediately following the session on the library first floor (HUB level).
