About the Research Commons
The CCTS Research Commons is a shared resource of the UAB Center for Clinical and Translational Science and is open to anyone interested in Clinical and Translational Science (See: Four things you need to know about Clinical and Translational Science). The Research Commons is a dynamic, physical and virtual hub through which CCTS Components, investigators, trainees, and community members interact. It has both a “bricks and mortar” presence, as well as a substantial virtual interface. The Research Commons serves as a University-wide crucible in which critical research catalysts are assembled and connected with each other. The Research Commons houses the following three programs: the Program for Research Support, the CCTS Training Academy, and the Nascent Projects Panel. The purpose of this blog is to provide useful information and guidance on a variety of issues relevant for today’s clinical and translational researchers.
CCTS Research Commons Staff:
Cheryl Perry, PhD is the fearless director of the Research Commons and has been involved with the development of the UAB Center for Clinical and Translational Science since the first day. She has been with UAB for over ten years and worked on a variety of grant applications and research-support projects across campus.
Audrey Wrenn, MAEd, is program manager of the CCTS’s Training and Research Education component and works with the Common’s Training Academy. She is the go-to person for all things research education and training in the Commons.
Melissa McBrayer, MEd, is a staff member of the Research Commons and specializes in career development grant applications. If you are planning an individual or institutional training grant application, your project would benefit greatly from her knowledge and expertise.
Jean Lambert, MA, is the newest addition to the staff of the Research Commons. With a varied history of research-related work at UAB, she brings a broad skill set to the Research Commons.
